Comments from Phil:

I don't like writing movies, because they turn out kind of...not good...*coughDomesticDisputecough*...so I asked Derek to write something that I can direct. Can you guess what it was? That's right! It was Batman: Average Citizen! NO! It was Godrilla! HAHAHAHAHAHARGLEBARGLEaha. Eep! The story of a young emo kid who wants to off himself, but finds salvation in religion. It really spoke to me. And making God a gorilla really spoke to Danny, the young emo kid. 'Cause, you know, kids love animals. Strangely, though, Jude doesn't really look very emo. I told him to grow his hair for the role so it could cover one eye, become skinnier, and lose some of his vision so the glasses would be more realistic, but oh well! His look worked! And you have to love the contrast Derek created with God. He's an unkempt gorilla, but he wears a really fancy suit. Just like religion has its many meanings, Derek created many meanings for his vision of God purely through his physical appearance! They both did a great job, especially Jude who had to put up with us pouring holy beer all over him...twice! And watch Derek's face jiggle! Or rather the mask...OR IS IT?! Watch for subtle nods to our past movies "Of Beast and Man" and "Sunny G!"

If you feel like there is nothing left for you in this world, and you need something, or someone, to bring up your spirits and point your life in the right direction, then this is the movie for you!

Comments from Derek:

Somewheres back in Octobers, I wrote Godrilla. Phil had said he felt like doing something other than Batman (WYIM episode one was turning out to be quite the long haul) and asked me why I don't write more, being in school for... writing. And y'know, he was right; back then I really wasn't writing enough (now I'm a FACTORY). So I got to penning this. I wanted to do something non-spoofy, short, and that actually had a story. It started with this character being depressed and then meeting "God", but then for some reason I decided God should be a gorilla and the rest followed naturally.

We went looking for a gorilla mask around Halloween, but couldn't find anything, so we turned to eBay, snatching a mighty cool one from the good ol' UK. From there, we hired Jude for the role of "Elfman" (his temporary name in the script - so naturally, he became "Danny") and got to filming, which was good fun as always. Jude infuses a real charm to his character, and Phil brings it all together as usual. Hallelujah!
