Derek's commentary (2011):
It's hard to remember now, but the production and release of this episode was so unnecessarily tortured. And of course, it was self-torture -- my specialty. I always had a tendency to poison my own projects, but it came to a head here. I flipped back between love and hate for every scene, every line, every inch of it. Too much. And that's probably why this was the last real "Trashimation." When it was over, I didn't want to do animation anymore.
...On the bright side, I am actually happy with how this one came out! If it proves to be the last Subcultured and last Trashimation, I'm glad it was one I like.
