Derek's commentary:

A long time ago on my blog, I said I wanted to do something fairy-tale like. Ashby started off from that notion as The Ash Garden, but that never really went anywhere. It eventually became Ashby, a satire of the sort of preachy, brain-washing "lesson" ads that were drilled into my head as a child while trying to watch Ninja Turtles. It's sort of a sister-movie to The Lost Anti-Drug PSA.

I think you can still see some fairy-tale aspects in it, which I like. Feels different. Anyway, special thanks to Phil and Azure for great performances. Visit Azure at her website if you're interested in having her do some voice acting for you.



Trivia:

- In the narrator's line "But one day, the big fat murky mass..." the word "But" is actually me (Derek).
It was a last minute addition and I didn't want to delay releasing just to get one word recorded from Phil.

- Ashby is the second Trashimation to have a female cast member

- Smoking does not cause AIDS or diabetes. So relax. Puff away and get cancer, king of diseases!
